One delightful surprise I’ve found playing with ChatGPT is its penchant for puns. Without explicitly prompting playful language, the transformer seems to pick up on silly subject matter and contribute its own cheeky flair. Here’s a screenplay it generated for me recently with plenty of fun and a consistent sense of voice.

I subsequently asked ChatGPT to generate a prompt for Midjourney v5. The idea was to use Midjourney to synthesize a thumbnail for this advertisement. Here’s what ChatGPT returned.

The thumbnail should feature renowned Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling and the most recent winner of the Kentucky Derby, Gentleman George, who can talk and has a British accent. For the blog page image (and the social sharing image), I wanted a different image. I fed Midjourney the following prompt.

The opulent results do lack one noticeable feature…

There are no shampoo bottles in sight! Unlike the previous prompt, this one explicitly mentions that Gosling is holding a shampoo bottle. It is certainly unclear why Midjourney avoided this part of the prompt, but perhaps this is for the best: Given the state of AI-generated hand images, the above results are quite good.

As an aside, I cannot find record of a horse named Gentleman George winning the Kentucky Derby. The only racehorse I could find by that name only claimed two first place titles at Louisiana Downs.
